Lesson learned about CPU pops..

All of the sudden a song that we're working on develops horrible CPU pops and crackles when played back though my Audiobox 22VSL. It's to the point where it sounds like a bad AM radio station or better yet.. A bowl of Rice Crispys. Then I discover that pops are being recorded... Panic time!

I do some research and decide to reinstall the Audiobox 22VSL drivers. After that I still have the problem.! Then change the sample rate from 96kHz to 48 kHz.. Boom. CPU rate decrease by half. Lesson.. If you don't have a killer amount of CPU horsepower don't try using 96kHz.

Back On Tracks

A bit of a layoff from recording and producing but we plan to kick it up a notch. My son just finished writing his EP and we've been working on the recording and mix. I have worked quite a bit with Studio One and feel its the best DAW I have ever worked with. So powerful and intuitive. I love it. More to come.
